We're happy to share that the next version of Networks Locator (EU) is now available, featuring some useful new updates and improvements.
Here’s what’s new:
Geoattachments
A new layer intersection type DOCUMENT allows automatic collection of relevant documents that are attached to features within the request area. For example, drill protocols can be picked up and provided to the requester, supporting more informed planning of construction sites.
The attached documents are retrieved via HTTP calls, so they must be accessible through public URLs. Currently, authentication is not supported.
If a custom document management system (DMS) is involved, you can integrate it via a custom web service. This service is responsible for handling authentication with the DMS and must expose the documents through an unauthenticated HTTP endpoint that the system can call directly.
Dynamic Text blocks in Print Outs
Context-sensitive messages can now be included in print templates based on specific request features — for example, displaying a warning when a high-pressure gas pipeline is involved. See here: Dynamic Print Elements
Layer intersection results in dynamic documents
Dynamic documents can now make use of data from layer intersections — for example, generating a document that lists all affected utility providers within the request area, based on a polygon layer representing service territories.
Additional E-Mail Notifications
Automatic E-Mail notifications can now be sent to defined users when certain features are involved (e.g., high-pressure gas valves). The content and look & feel of the additional emails can be fully customized using the new option to create custom mail templates.
Layer specific agents for locked areas
You can now define agent email addresses at the layer level, enabling targeted notifications based on which locked area intersects the request area. These layer-level addresses override any agent email addresses defined at the root level, allowing for more precise and context-aware alerting.
Technology Updates
- The order book now uses a WebSocket connection to receive real-time updates for new orders. This replaces the previous 10-second polling mechanism, reducing server load and improving responsiveness.
- When layers in the configuration use the show-in-map parameter, the application now applies the renderer defined in the portal item of the associated feature service. This enables much easier customization of the visual appearance of the layer in the map, allowing administrators to control styling directly via the ArcGIS Map Viewer
- The application now fully supports authentication against ArcGIS Enterprise using an API key. This makes the use of a named user optional
- Upgraded Keycloak to version 26.3.3
- Upgraded Kong to version 3.9.1
