We’re excited to announce the release of VertiGIS Networks Editor, Explorer, and Simulator 1.14! This version introduces Job Management as an early preview feature. We’ve also significantly improved Annotation, Template, and Versioning Modules.
Discover the key features of this release:
Job Management (Preview)
This component is in Preview. It may change, have limited functionality, and is not recommended for production use. We welcome your feedback to help improve the final release.
The new Job Management module introduces a centralized toolbar for managing jobs, users and groups. It is possible to define supervisor or worker roles. If configured, supervisors can create and assign new jobs and approve them upon completion. Workers can open and close their assigned jobs, ensuring that tasks are tracked efficiently from start to finish. Once work is completed, jobs can be reconciled and posted to integrate changes into the Default version.
Annotations
This release enhances the Annotations module with several improvements. Annotations that include a leader line can now be displayed directly in the map view, providing clearer context for related features. It is now possible to delete annotations. Feature-linked annotations are automatically deleted if the associated feature is deleted, ensuring data consistency and easier map maintenance.
Editing
The Create Feature module now supports reading feature templates directly from the shared templates endpoint. This provides an alternative to loading them from the web map and improves the sharing of templates across multiple projects.
Users can now also create non-spatial features, expanding the types of data that can be added.
Additionally, improvements for preset and group templates include the line tool support for group templates with point features as primary template, enabling more versatile and efficient feature creation workflows.
Versioning
The Versioning module now allows users to view and work with versions across multiple data sources (feature services). This can be especially useful when you need to make changes in both a basemap service and Utility Network data at the same time.
In addition, undo and redo functionality has been enhanced, allowing users to save or discard edits across different versioned services, improving flexibility and control over changes.
Dimensions
The Dimensions module introduces two key enhancements. Users can now add labels to the orthogonal start point, providing clearer reference points. In addition, Networks now supports to display dimension with double-underlined dimensions
Multiline and Routes
The Multi-Line module includes several enhancements to improve precision and control. Users can now extend multi-lines more efficiently, while the system prevents a 0.0 gap between two lines to avoid unintended overlaps. Additionally, it is now possible to define a gap between the axis and the multi-line, providing greater flexibility in layout and alignment.
Georeferencing
The Georeferencing module now allows users to save georeferenced images as media layers directly to the ArcGIS Portal, making them accessible across projects.
Users can also display and load shared georeferenced images from other users, improving collaboration and streamlining access to key spatial data.
Diagrams
The Diagrams module is now available in the Editor, enabling users to view and interact with diagrams directly within their workflow. Users can also zoom or pan to a diagram in the Diagram Panel, providing easier navigation and better focus on specific network elements.
Further improvements
This release also includes several additional enhancements:
the Editor is now available in Swedish;
licensing warnings now appear every 10 minutes;
Bulk-Attribute Update and KML import are now supported in the Editor;
and the Home Panel has been cleaned up for improved usability.
