We’re thrilled to announce the release of VertiGIS Networks Editor, Explorer and Simulator 1.18! This version introduces major enhancements across the different Editing Workflows, editing of Annotations, Job Management and Shared Templates.
Loop In Network Points
This release introduces a powerful new workflow for connecting network points to existing network lines. Users can now automatically detect nearby lines and create loop-in connections directly from network points. In addition, network points can be manually looped into existing network infrastructure. A new preview mode visualizes the resulting geometry before applying changes, while configurable buffer and gap settings allow organizations to fine-tune their workflows.
Replace Geometry
A completely new Replace Geometry tool enables users to update the geometric extent of existing line features without recreating assets. Geometry can be replaced either by drawing a new sketch or by using the geometry of another existing feature. This can support workflows like changing the course of a line after receiving measurement data from the field.
Annotations
Users can now move and rotate block annotations as a single unit and edit block annotations directly, providing improved control over annotation content. Editing includes rotation and move of the whole block as well as changing e.g. Annotation Class or, in case of free annotations, the text of a single annotation.
Copy & Paste Features
Copy & Paste now supports anchor points and snapping for precise placement. This is especially useful when connecting the duplicated features to an existing Network. UI improvements provide better grouping of copied elements which simplifies the interaction with the copy selection.
Multi-line Editing
Multi-lines can now be shortened. When shortening a route, associated trench areas and connected multi-line features are automatically adjusted to maintain data integrity and correct connectivity. This makes it easier to precisely end trenches at the desired location while preserving related network geometry.
This release also improves the creation of protective tubes, which can now be generated reliably even in scenarios where the underlying cable contains 90° bends, providing better support for complex network layouts.
Dimension
Dimension lines and labels are now visually linked when selected, making it easy to identify the corresponding measurement in maps with many dimensions. This improves clarity and streamlines dimension editing workflows.
Creating orthogonal dimensions is now faster and more intuitive. Instead of manually drawing a baseline, users can simply select an existing reference line. The system automatically uses the nearest vertex of the selected line as the baseline, reducing clicks and streamlining the dimension workflow.
Edit Attributes Before Save
Users can now review and modify feature attributes before they are saved to the database. After creating Group Templates, Preset Templates, or Multiline Features, an attribute dialog is presented, allowing users to verify and update attribute values of each individual feature prior to actually saving the feature. This helps improve data accuracy and reduces the need for post-creation edits.
Split
The Split by Line workflow now offers enhanced interactive control over split selections, improving accuracy for complex editing scenarios. It is now possible to remove lines which were part of the Split Line selection before splitting.
Job Management
Administrators can now register portal groups as new Job Management group directly within the application. This reduces administrative effort significantly and allows a smooth integration to the Enterprise architecture. Administrators can furthermore identify the group assigned to a specific job.
Other News
All Networks Solutions are now available in Portuguese.
This release version is fully compatible with VertiGIS Studio Web 5.42, which comes with an AI Command Assistant, as well as new Import Functionality. It is now possible to import data from a File Geodatabase (FGDB) and Esri Layer Package (LPKX).
This release also includes Attribute Form 1.12 which i.a. now allows creating, modifying, and using catalogs stored in an external portal items.
VertiGIS Networks 1.18 is compatible with the latest version of DXF Export, which introduces several bugfixes and general improvements.
