Searching within a range of dates can be important when attempting to locate previous or future: orders, appointments, or even deadlines, within your database. There are several options available to search for specific date ranges in the VertiGIS FM software.
When searching for specific date ranges, the search function always uses the current date as its starting point. The following diagram provides a visual reference for how to use each filter. The examples below provide further detail.
Example 1
If you are looking for all inspections that occurred within the last 12 months, use the options: < and <=, 12, and Months, in the highlighted fields shown below. The search results will display all inspections between the current date and the previous 12 months.
Range: 10/18/2021 - 10/18/2022
Example 2
If you would like to find inspections that occurred before a certain date range, it is best to use the << filter as shown highlighted below. This search will return all inspections that occurred before 10/18/2021 (The search results will not include the inspections those that occurred between 10/18/2021 and 10/18/2022).
Period: before 10/18/2021
Example 3
If you are looking for inspections scheduled within the next 12 months, use > and >=, 12, and Months as the search parameters. You will be shown all inspections from the current date and all those that will occur over the next 12 months.
Period: 10/18/2022 - 10/18/2023
Example 4
If you want to find inspections that will occur after a certain range of dates, for example after 10/18/2023, then it is necessary to use the >> filter (highlighted below). This search will return all inspections that are scheduled to occur after 10/18/2023. Therefore, the search results will not include any inspections that occurred between 10/18/2022 and 10/18/2023.
Period: after 10/18/2023
