Introduction
Attribute tables can be included in ArcGIS Pro print layouts and used within VertiGIS Studio Web print templates to display feature information directly in the generated output.
Depending on your requirements, attribute tables can be configured to display:
- All features from a layer, regardless of the current map extent
- Only features visible within the map extent at the time of printing
- Only selected features from a layer
Prerequisites
- ArcGIS Pro is installed and licensed
- A print layout has been created
- The layout contains a WEBMAP_MAP_FRAME referencing your map
- The layer to be displayed in the attribute table has to be present in the map
Note: Creating and configuring attribute tables is not supported in the VertiGIS Studio Printing Designer. The attribute table must be configured in ArcGIS Pro before exporting the layout as a PAGX layout. |
Option 1: Display All Features
This configuration displays all records from the specified layer, regardless of the current map extent or any selected features. To configure this option in ArcGIS Pro follow the next steps:
Open the layout in ArcGIS Pro
Insert a Table Frame into the layout
Select the layer whose features should be displayed
Set the query on the Table Frame to All rows
Configure the fields to include in the table
Adjust the size and position of the table as required
Save the layout and export it as a PAGX layout
All records from the configured layer are available for the attribute table. The print output displays as many records as fit within the configured table area on the layout. Additional records are not shown if the available space is exceeded.
Option 2: Display Only Features Visible in the Map Extent
This configuration displays only those features that are currently visible within the map extent of the print map. To configure this option in ArcGIS Pro follow the next steps:
Open the layout in ArcGIS Pro
Insert a Table Frame into the layout
Select the layer whose features should be displayed
Set the query on the Table Frame to Visible rows
Configure the fields to include in the table
Adjust the size and position of the table as required
Save the layout and export it as a PAGX layout
Only features visible within the current map extent are included in the attribute table. The print output displays as many records as fit within the configured table area on the layout. Additional records are not shown if the available space is exceeded.
Option 3: Display Only Selected Features
This configuration displays only features that are selected by the user before printing. To configure this option in ArcGIS Pro follow the next steps:
This functionality is not yet available and is planned to be introduced with the next release of VertiGIS Studio Web 5.45 (scheduled for December 2026). The configuration steps in ArcGIS Pro for this option will be updated once the release is available.
Only features selected by the user are included in the attribute table. The print output displays as many records as fit within the configured table area on the layout. Additional records are not shown if the available space is exceeded.
How to Publish the ArcGIS Pro Layouts correctly
To use the layout in VertiGIS Studio Web, an additional workaround is required. PAGX layouts that contain attribute tables cannot be used directly, because publishing a PAGX layout with a referenced web map is not supported. Additionally, importing the exported PAGX file into the Printing Designer removes the table frame configuration, as table frames are not supported by the designer.
To preserve the original PAGX configuration, including the attribute table settings, follow these steps:
Import the PAGX layout into the VertiGIS Studio Printing Designer
Save the layout to create the corresponding portal item
Open the created portal item in ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise
Use Update Data to overwrite the item's data with the original PAGX file exported from ArcGIS Pro
After overwriting the item data, the original PAGX configuration is restored. As a result, the attribute table configuration and table frames are retained and will be included in the print output.
