Introduction
You can now create single, grid, or line-based prints in VertiGIS Studio Web by selecting multiple features and applying a predefined layout. Each feature generates its own output, enabling efficient batch printing directly from the web application.
This functionality is available starting with Studio Web version 5.41.1 (April 15, 2026)
Configuration
1. Activate the Required Print Modes
In the VertiGIS Studio Web Designer, enable the appropriate printing modes in the printing component according to the geometry types for which printing should be available:
- Line Geometries - Enable Line Print
- Point and Polygon geometries - Enable Grid Print
2. Enable Print Result Action on Layers
In the VertiGIS Studio Web Designer go to the following settings:
- Navigate to the Map > Layer Extensions
- Edit the Layer Extension for each relevant layer and add the command "Print" to the Result Actions
Hint: Customize the Title and Description of the result action to make it more user-friendly. |
How to Use
In VertiGIS Studio Web, use the search functionality or the identify tool to select features. Then, locate the configured Print action in the Results List or Result Details. Choose the desired layout and scale, and click Preview. Once everything is set up, click Print to generate the final output.
Note: A continuous line print is generated across the entire geometry and it does not work if the selected line geometries are disconnected, intersecting or crossing each other. For point or polygon geometries an exploded grid print is created and each feature is printed on a separate page. |
An example application is provided in the attachment of this article. In this sample, the Print action has been configured on the following layers:
- Fire Hydrant
- Water Lines
- Buildings
To explore the app and its configuration:
- Create a blank Studio Web App
- Save the application
- Upload the provided ZIP file
Once uploaded, you can review how the print actions and settings are configured on each layer.
