Toolbars in VertiGIS Studio Web can be customized in a wide variety of ways, offering extensive flexibility. This article will explore some fundamental toolbar configurations that can serve as a foundation for further customization within your applications.
Here is a sample application with various toolbars configured: https://apps.vertigisstudio.com/web/?app=58ffec074074451fbd77ce5bfa643970
This application can be downloaded and uploaded into your own web designer. The downloadable zip file can be found at the bottom of this article.
| Note: This application is intended as an example to demonstrate toolbars in Studio Web and does not contain any result components or additional functionality. |
The various toolbars in this application are described below:
Home panel Toolbar
Using a toolbar on the home panel is a good way to easily present accessible tools to your users. This example has been configured to be resizable, while the text component on the home panel is set to a fixed size so that the text is visible on initial load.
Taskbar Toolbar
A taskbar component behaves similarly to Tab components, but it can be fully collapsed unlike Tabs. It can be used to house multiple menus, so you can organize different tools inside it. The taskbar toolbar in the example application contains an Identify sub-menu and other out-of-the-box commands and tools.
Below is a screenshot from our docs that contains Bookmarks, IWTM, and Search:
Tabbed Editing Toolbar
The tabbed editing toolbar is oriented vertically and contains draw & editing tools with dividers in place to keep things organized.
Component configuration:
Banner Toolbar
The banner toolbar in the example application has tabbed toolbars. An Identify sub-menu and other out-of-the-box commands and tools is included on the Tools tab.
I Want to Menu
The I Want to Menu is functionally similar to Toolbars. It provides a menu to which you can add tools, commands and other resources like workflows, reports and/or print templates/layouts. In this particular application, the I Want to Menu can be used to access feature editing tools in the Mobile layout, since the editing tab is only available in the default (desktop) layout.
