We have created a component library to allow inclusion of the Eagleview Embedded Explorer (E3) in a VertiGIS Studio Web app.
NOTE: The component requires version 5.36 or later of VertiGIS Studio Web, and using the prebuilt component does not check this dependency. Installing in an older version of VertiGIS Studio Web can break the Designer application!
The Eagleview Explorer will synchronize to the center point of the map.
Steps to install the Eagleview Embedded Explorer component:
-
Provision or obtain an Eagleview API Key from your Eagleview representative.
The API Key must be configured to authenticate requests from the FQDN of your VertiGIS Studio Web host.
NOTE: if you wish to use the E3 component with the SaaS edition of VertiGIS Studio Web, you must use a registered VertiGIS Studio subdomain (e.g. https://yoursubdomain.apps.vertigisstudio.com). -
Download the VertiGIS Studio Web component library (eagle-view-viewer.js)
(Click on the Download this library link under the demo viewer.) - In VertiGIS Studio Web Designer, open the viewer app you wish to add the E3 component to.
- From the File menu, select Upload Library.
- Click the Select File button, and select the eagle-view-viewer.js library you downloaded in step 2.
- Click the Upload Library button.
- Click on the + Add Component button, and drag the Eagleview Embedded Explorer component into an appropriate container. The demo viewer has the component hosted in the same Panel containing the ResultsTable.
- Click on Eagleview Embedded Explorer in the component tree to open its properties editor.
- In the API Key field, enter your EagleView API Key.
- Save your viewer.
NOTE: Like other VSW components, if you wish to have the E3 component hidden by default, you can set the component's Visibility setting to Hidden. You must then configure a means to show the component (e.g. from the I want to menu and/or the toolbar). Watch the Add Eagleview Explorer to VertiGIS Studio Web tech tip video for a tutorial on how to configure the context and result action menus to launch the EagleView Explorer. Use the Open by URL tool in your Workflow Designer to open the sample Workflows below. Alternatively, you may import the attached JSON files.
- Launch EagleView from the Context Menu: https://latitudegeo.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=0514a023890e480d8183ea558c879098
- Launch EagleView from the Result Action Menu: https://latitudegeo.maps.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=c661e23203f04140b81a625f919c3cb2
NOTE: A subdomain is required when using the SaaS edition of VertiGIS Studio Web to ensure your Eagleview API key is associated with your apps only. An on-premises Portal is not required to register a subdomain.
NOTE: Eagleview fails to function when detached (popped out) from the Studio Web Viewer, but working as expected when re-docked to the viewer.

I run into an issue with the ‘EagleView’ integration. The maps are not ‘syncing’ as expected when a ‘snap to zoom’ is checked in the map setting. Please see my post with more details in the link below:

The latest version of the Eagleview Embedded Explorer component for VertiGIS Studio Web, released Sept 9, 2025, includes a fix for the zooming/syncing issue. Please follow the below steps to update the component in your VSW apps.
(IMPORTANT: DO NOT CLICK "Save Changes" YET! - if you do, VertiGIS Studio Designer will become unresponsive and you will need to contact our support team to fix the app config).
Check out the VertiGIS TechTip video, on how to embed the EagleView Explorer within a VertiGIS Studio Web app: https://youtu.be/nfitBLVROnw?si=urRwnWwjuTItrZW4
can we do something about this, please?
Hi Eric Kriener, the toolbar and Layers component shown in your screenshot are part of the Eagleview Embedded Explorer (E3) itself, so VertiGIS will need to coordinate with Eagleview to investigate the source of this error.
Hi Jon Swoveland, the layers menu is working after applying the Web 5.38 update.
Thank-you for sharing that, Eric Kriener. I honestly don't know how updating Web would have any effect on the functioning of that menu, but I'm not complaining!
