Problem
Depending on PC specifications, browser, and complexity of the underlying web map, it can sometimes happen that when using certain tools (e.g., "Measuring"), there is a significant degradation in performance.
In the Task Manager, very high up to maximum GPU utilization may be observed.
But chances are there is oftentimes a simple solution if you encounter such behavior. If the computer has two built in GPUs, in most cases the browsers default to using the integrated graphics card rather than a primary, dedicated graphics card, which would provide much more power (see screenshot below; GPU 1 outlined in red: NVIDIA GeForce GT).
This is often a default setting on PCs to conserve resources, as the integrated graphics card is typically sufficient for normal web browsing. However, for more demanding graphic applications, it may reach its limits.
Solution
In such a case, the problem can be resolved by manually specifying the graphics card and performance for the browser being used.
To do this, follow these steps:
Select "High Performance" in the Windows Graphics Settings for the corresponding browser:
Set this for all web browsers used with VertiGIS Studio Web:
