App Framework: Building with Studio Web

VertiGIS Studio Web lets users build sleek GIS apps for browsers with 2D/3D maps. Apps are configured in a Web-Based-Designer (i.e. Chrome, Firefox, etc.) using layouts and components to define behavior, structure, and data. Studio Web is available On-Premises or SaaS.

   • These requirements apply only to on-prem installations. Studio Web needs a Windows Server (2019+), .NET 4.8+, TLS enabled, and internet access.

      • Studio Web apps are created in Studio Web Designer. Apps may be deployed through the following default deployment stages: Development, Testing, Staging to Production or customized to meet your requirements. At every deployment stage, a copy of the app is saved to your Esri portal.

      • You can build an app based on a template or completely from scratch. You can also create an app template based on an existing app. You can use the whole template or you can get configuration from a template or another app. The flexibility to quickly use and adapt existing components makes creating an app quick and easy.

   • Ready-to-use Web Esri JavaScript 4.x widgets for time slider and 3D tools 
     • VertiGIS has released ready-to-use Web incubator libraries that wrap Esri JavaScript 4.x widgets, including a Time Slider and several 3D tools, making them easy to add directly into VertiGIS Studio Web apps. These libraries can be downloaded, uploaded into Web Designer, and used as components, but they are provided as incubator libraries because the underlying Esri widgets do not fully support VertiGIS standards for accessibility, internationalization, and branding.
   • Restore Original Layer Symbology 
     • This feature was implemented in VertiGIS Studio Web 5.36. Two new commands, layers.reset-symbols and layers.reset-definition-expression, allow users to restore layer symbology and filters to their original default state without refreshing the application. The release also added four related tools: Reset All Symbols, Reset All Filters, Reset Symbol, and Reset Filter, addressing a common customer request for quickly reverting layer customizations.

     • A community-maintained feature matrix helps users compare Geocortex Viewer for HTML5 (GVH) functionality with VertiGIS Studio Web (VSW), making it easier to assess migration readiness and identify feature availability. The matrix is regularly updated, with new features highlighted in yellow, and currently reflects the VertiGIS Studio Web 5.37 release.
