We are excited to announce the release of Networks Locator (EU) Version 1.3. This version introduces new features, improvements, and security enhancements.
New Features
Review (Manual) Mode for Locked Areas
You can now define locked areas, which are regions where the system will not automatically process locate requests. These areas may include high-risk infrastructure zones, military zones, or environmental protection areas. When a request intersects one of these locked zones, an internal agent will be notified and must manually review the request in the Locator Cockpit. Processing will only proceed once the request has been approved. This feature provides an additional layer of control, ensuring that sensitive areas are carefully managed and protected.
Locator Client and Locator Cockpit Enhancements
- The orderbook now includes a quick filter to easily search through locate requests in both the Locator Web Client and Locator Cockpit.
- Self-service capabilities have been expanded, allowing users to update their account metadata (e.g. contact information, address, etc.) directly within the Locator Web Client.
- Various UI/UX improvements have been made to the request form in the Locator Client to enhance user interactions.
- The title tag of the Locator Client and Locator Cockpit App now displays the title and favicon of the underlying Studio Web App, making it easier to distinguish between the two when using multiple tabs.
- You can now use a UTM Basemap in both the Locator Client and Locator Cockpit, resolving previous issues during map sheet calculations.
Deployment Enhancements
- Kubernetes Secret Management: You can now reference Kubernetes Secrets in the
values.yaml
file instead of storing sensitive data in plain text within the values file. This change enhances security by allowing sensitive data to be managed securely without storing it in plain text. - The Solution Package is now available in the VertiGIS Container Registry and can be downloaded via ORAS. Be sure to check the What’s Included section for more details.
Security Improvements
- The file upload endpoint has been enhanced with additional security checks. You can now configure a whitelist of allowed file types, ensuring only these specified types are uploaded.
- An optional antivirus check using the open-source ClamAV engine can be configured to enhance file upload security. (Note: This check is optional and can be configured based on your security requirements.)
Technology Updates
- The product has been upgraded to Quarkus 3.15.3, improving performance and stability.
