How to Convert VertiGIS Print Templates to Layouts for the VertiGIS Studio Print Engine

After installing the new VertiGIS Studio Print Engine and VertiGIS Studio Printing version 5.23 you will have the option to convert existing templates into new layouts within your on-premise VertiGIS Studio Printing Designer.

Guide:

The steps to convert a template to a layout are shown in the GIF below:

1. Open your on-premise VertiGIS Studio Printing Designer
2. If the ArcGIS Pro Layout Mode is currently toggled on please toggle it off in 'File' > 'Settings' 
3. Your existing VertiGIS Studio Printing templates will now be visible
4. Open an existing template
5. Under the 'File' menu select the 'Convert' option
6. Click 'OK' to convert

   Note: The conversion process is non-destructive - it creates a new layout item, and the existing template remains available for apps that may currently be using it.

7. Repeat steps 3-5 for any additional templates you wish to convert to layouts
8. Toggle the ArcGIS Pro Layout Mode on to see your new print layouts
