Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

Problem:

When starting an UT on a PGDB (MDB) edit session you get the following error.

Editing is not possible !
Possible reasons:

If necessary please ask your responsible system administrator.
Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component.

Cause:

The PGDB is either write protected or located in a directory where the user does not have the permission to edit.

Solution:

Remove the write protection, set appropriate permission for the related directory or move the PGDB into a directory where the user has the required permissions.
