If the Multiline tool in your application does not display templates or does not filter them, this is often due to missing or incorrect feature templates in the WebMap. This issue is known and is being investigated by Esri (BUG-000178365). Until an official fix is available, you can use the following workaround.
Issue
With the Multiline tool, certain templates (e.g., for electrical or structural connections) are not displayed or are not filtered correctly. As a result, relationships and cross-sectional views cannot be created.
Cause
- Missing or incorrect feature templates within the WebMap.
- Potential Esri limitation when publishing templates in ArcGIS Pro (BUG-000178365).
- Possibly missing containment rules in the UN data model.
Workaround
Tested with ArcGIS Pro 3.5.x and VertiGIS Networks 1.14.x:
- Open the WebMap in ArcGIS Pro.
- Delete all templates (do not recreate them).
- Republish the WebMap.
- Re-reference the WebMap in the application.
- Save the application.
- Reload the application.
- Verify that the templates are displayed in the Multiline tool and that filters function correctly.
Note
- Direct correction of an existing WebMap from the portal in ArcGIS Pro and saving via "Save Web Map" currently does not resolve the issue.
- A final fix must be provided by Esri.
Additional Analysis
If problems persist:
- Check whether containment rules are missing in the UN data model.
- Analyze which templates are incorrectly filtered and review their UN rules.
