The article provides instructions for accessing log files from the Studio Go App on different operating systems: Windows, Android, and iOS.
Depending on your OS, there are different ways of how you can access a log file from your Studio Go App.
In this article it is described how you can access a Studio Mobile Log File for Windows, Android and iOS.
Windows
- Open File Explorer
- Navigate to
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\Geocortex.GeocortexGo_crswry2rg6bhm\LocalState\
Studio.Mobile.Windows.log (or vertigisstudio instead of geocortex)- Alternatively
%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages\[GeocortexMobileViewerAppName]\LocalState (Studio.Mobile.Windows.log)
- Alternatively
- Open the Studio.Mobile.Windows.log file in a text editor or a Notepad-like application
Android
- Connect your device to a computer
- Open it in file explorer
- Navigate through to 'This PC\DeviceName\DeviceType\Android\data\geocortex.mobile.viewer\files'
- So for example on a Galaxy Tablet S2, the path would be 'This PC\Galaxy Tab S2\Tablet\Android\data\geocortex.mobile.viewer\files'
- You can then download the Geocortex.Mobile.Droid.log file and open it with a text editor or a Notepad-like application
Important Notice: Log files do not dynamically update while your device is connected. In other words: if you connect your Android and then take the actions for which you want the logs, the log you find will be out of date. If you think the log is out of date, simply disconnect and reconnect the device. The log file will have updated and you'll be good to go. |
If you need a bug report of the whole device, you can get it as here described: https://developer.android.com/studio/debug/bug-report
iOS
You need to synchronize your phone with your desktop via iTunes.
- Download iTunes, follow the prompts, and unlock your phone
- Connect your device to a computer
- Select the phone icon from the top left corner:
- Now look under "File Sharing"
- Select Studio Go
- Download the Studio.Mobile.iOS.log file and open it with a text editor or a Notepad-like application
Important Notice: Unlike Android, on iOS the log files do dynamically update while your device is connected. |
We recommend to use the log level DEBUG. You can change the log level in Studio Go by default, if you open the I want to…-Menu and then click on the settings icon (note: maybe you have to scroll down a bit):
