As all you know Connect Master is continuously updating with new features to enhance user experience and functionality. With the recent release of version 7.3, some users have reported issues related to:
- Creating new reports
- Editing attributes in events
These issues stem from changes in permission settings that now require explicit administrative approval. Without the necessary access rights, affected users are unable to perform these critical functions. This article provides a detailed, step by step solution to resolve these access issues and ensure a seamless experience with Connect Master
Issue Details
After upgrading to Connect Master 7.3, some users are facing issue with:
- Inability to create new reports – Users are unable to generate reports due to restricted access rights.
- Inability to edit attributes in events – Users are blocked from modifying event attributes, impacting workflow efficiency.
These issues arise due to an updated security and permission framework introduced in version 7.3. The new settings require administrators to manually grant the necessary access permissions for users who need these functionalities.
Solution: Granting Access manually to the user
To restore these functionalities, an admin user must grant access to the affected users by following these steps:
Step by Step guide to enable the access
- Log in to Connect Master as an Admin user
- Navigate to the Admin Tool located in the main dashboard
- Select User Administration from the available options.
- Click on User Group to access the list of users and their permissions.
-
Identify the affected user in the list and click on the Key Icon (located on the right side of their entry)
- In the function administration, enable the following options:
- Grant access to report administration – This allows the user to generate and manage new reports within the system.
In the Object manipulation, enable the following options
- Grant access to edit event attributes – This provides the user with the ability to modify and update attributes in events.
- Click - save the changes and Ok
- Notify the user to log out and log back in for the updated permissions to take effect.
Now the users will be able to make new reports and edit the attributes in the CM version 7.3 without any fall.
