Each VertiGIS product usually has its own Product Life Cycle (PLC).
The respective Product Life Cycle (PLC) can be found as part of the official product documentation / user manual.
For most VertiGIS products, you will find a link to the user manual as web help in the VertiGIS Documentation Center.
The Product Life Cycle (PLC) provides all customers with information on which support level is available in the product cycle.
The PLC of VertiGIS products follows either a version-based or calendar-based approach.
- Version-based PLC: with each new (major) release, the support phases of previous versions change
- Calendar-based PLC: the support phases change after a certain period of time after the initial release
VertiGIS normally distinguishes between the following support phases:
- General Availability:
Fixes are provided for significant issues, typically with a bugfix or minor release of the software. VertiGIS Support staff are available to assist with issue resolution.
- Mature:
No planned updates to address software issues. At VertiGIS' discretion, updates may be made available provided it is not possible for the customer to upgrade to a newer product version. VertiGIS Support staff are available to assist with issue resolution.
- Retired
VertiGIS is no longer releasing updates to address any further issues. Bug fixes may be available on request, but are subject to charge. VertiGIS Support staff are not available to assist with issue resolution.
