The UT snapping functionality is based on the classic snapping of ArcGIS, which has to be activated in the Editor Options.
Enabling snapping (classic snapping)
The UT Snapping Manager can be used to define which object types / feature classes can be snapped to which other feature classes. It is also possible to configure individual snapping tolerances per object type / feature class.
When creating new objects, after selecting a UT creation tool and the object type, the snapping settings in ArcGIS (Snapping Window) are set automatically according to the configuration. Thus, the user does not have to manually adjust the snapping settings again and again when capturing different object types and only relevant features are snapped.
Note: When editing existing features, there is no update of the snapping settings based on the current feature selection. As of build 6409, there is a new "Snapping from Selection" function in the "UT Object Geometry" toolbar. With this, after selecting the feature whose geometry is to be changed, the snapping settings can be set as needed according to the configuration. |
