Remove the sub-headers from layers?

Hi folks,

Not sure what you call these things, but can we remove them, or make them optional? They bloat the whole layerlist look and feel. The users prefer the italic (greyed out) layer in GVH over the ‘Zoom in to view’ text. 

Same goes for the parent view thing - is this really needed?

I've managed to tweak the css on load to remove it, but is this really necessary?
