Querying a layer using geometry from another layer

Hi, hopefully someone has found a way to get this working.

I'm looking to use a polygon geometry from already present on our Property layer, to select all the objetcts from a target layer, such as Land Parcels, that intersect. I need a method that users could select their target layer.

The Query tool doesn't seem to be able to use geometry from another layer. I've tried moving this to mark-up, but that doesn't work either.
I've tried using the Search Nearby tool, but you have to specify the source and target layer to get the result, and this is just not flexible enough.
Any advice on how to do this would be much appreciated.

  Hi,

  you can use the Buffer tool with a radius of 0. To specifically select only one layer as the target layer, you'll need to set up a workflow. The same applies if you want to use more than one polygon as the source geometry.
