Now Available: VertiGIS Studio Web 5.44
Now Available: VertiGIS Studio Web 5.44
This release of VertiGIS Studio Web is focused on introducing Next Generation Editing (Beta), a modernized editing engine that lays the foundation for advanced editing tools. It also brings DXF export, feature context actions in the Attribute Table, and batch feature creation with Copy Features. Alongside these additions, we upgraded core technologies and improved stability and performance across the application.
✨ New Features
Next Generation Editing (Beta)
Next Generation Editing is the new foundation for editing in VertiGIS Studio Web. It covers the full core editing workflow: moving, resizing and rotating selected features or markups, adding, deleting and moving vertices, and precision mode for exact placement. It matches the functionality of the legacy editing tools it is designed to replace. The modernized engine also makes it possible to deliver more advanced editing tools in future releases.
Starting with this release, you can toggle between Next Generation Editing and legacy editing under Services/Draw in App Designer [398427]. This lets you validate the new engine in your own environment, with the legacy tools available as a fallback. To help you plan ahead, this is how the transition will roll out:
- 5.44 (October): Switch available, Next Generation Editing off by default
- 5.45 (December): Switch available, Next Generation Editing on by default
- 5.46 (February): Legacy editing is removed completely
We welcome your feedback. Before reporting an issue, please check the list of known issues in the VertiGIS Product Changelogs. If the behavior you encounter is already listed there, there is no need to report it again.
Feature Context Actions in the Attribute Table
The Attribute Table component now supports feature context actions. Administrators can configure actions directly on the features in the table, so end users can work with their data and interact with the map straight from the table. [392024]
Copy Features
Copy Features lets users create many features in a target layer from selected source features in one step. This saves time compared to recreating features one by one and helps keep data consistent when working across layers. [249883]
Related Table Editing
Editing related tables that have non-nullable fields defined in Esri forms is now supported. [355948]
DXF Export
Features can now be exported to DXF directly from VertiGIS Studio Web. This makes it easier to share map data with CAD users and to use VertiGIS Studio Web in CAD-based workflows. [343994]
App Designer Improvements
The JSON validation in App Designer has been replaced to avoid runtime crashes on large schemas, making the configuration of complex apps more reliable [349934]. The “Apply Definition Expression” setting is now toggled off by default [385776].
🚀 Technology & Security Upgrades
This release includes updates to our core technology stack to improve stability, performance and security:
Core Framework Upgrades
App Designer has been updated to React 19 [387663], and the application now uses ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 5.1 [387394]. Web packages were reviewed and updated, including a major version bump of react-window [373886].
Workflow Engine Modernization
Ensured full compatibility with the latest Studio Workflow 5.53 runtime engine. [398647]
Security
Highcharts was upgraded to a patched version that resolves non-published vulnerabilities. [408262]
🛠️ Bug Fixes
This release includes a wide range of fixes. The main focus areas were:
- Performance and stability: memory leaks in the Results Table and in workflows that update continuously, duplicate requests for Arcade attribute expressions, and App Designer stability with custom libraries.
- Authentication and sign-in: sign-in on iPadOS 27 and iOS 27, the AI Assistant, and the Platform API Key for secured layers in public apps.
- Layers, basemaps and layer presets: tile cache tiling schemes, WMTS basemaps, local coordinate systems, legend symbology after LPKX import, and layer presets created in Studio Desktop.
- Projects and workflows: loading and sharing of saved projects, and the reliable execution of multiple workflow commands in launched apps.
- App Designer and deployment: cross-Portal deployments, layer icons, data link configuration and the 3D Scene Viewer template.
- Search, identify and snapping: Esri Search with Z and M values, Identify error messages, and snapping on newly created features.
📱 Good to Know: Signing In on iPhone and iPad
In recent iOS and iPadOS updates, Apple enabled a pop-up blocker in Safari by default. This blocker can prevent the sign-in window of VertiGIS Studio Web from opening, which previously resulted in a generic error message when users tapped Sign in [390111].
VertiGIS Studio Web now detects when the pop-up blocker is the cause and shows a clear message instead: “Unable to sign in because popups are blocked. Please allow popups and try again.” To sign in, allow pop-ups for the site when Safari asks, or enable pop-ups for the site in the Safari settings, and then try again. Depending on the browser and its settings, you may also see the Safari prompt asking whether to block or allow the pop-up window. This behavior is controlled by the browser and cannot be changed from within VertiGIS Studio Web.
