VertiGIS is monitoring the recent daylight saving time changes in Canada.
British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories have moved away from seasonal clock changes. Most Studio products will continue to function normally, although a few products require updates to display the correct time.

COMING SOON

Studio Web 5.44

The next Studio Web release, targeted for approximately two weeks from the webinar, includes a major milestone: the next-generation editing engine.

The new editing engine will initially be released as a beta feature behind a soft switch. It will be disabled by default in 5.44, allowing customers to enable it and test their important workflows while retaining the legacy editing engine as a fallback. The team is actively looking for customer feedback and known issues before removing the beta designation in December.

The release also includes:

React 19 updates to App Designer
ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 5.1
A new Copy Features tool with field mapping
DXF export
Feature context actions in the Attribute Table component
A change to the default behavior for definition expressions
Memory leak fixes and performance improvements
A fix for the AI Command Assistant occasionally entering sleep mode

Studio Analytics 1.8

The October Analytics release expands the new data management capabilities introduced in the previous release cycle.

Administrators will be able to search for data associated with a specific user, review the types and sources of that data, and export the results to Excel or CSV. The tools also support removing identifiable user data or deleting user data.

Studio Desktop 2.2

The upcoming 2.2 release is focused primarily on maintenance and improvements to:

Range Series printing
Offline Studio Workflow performance and reliability
Viewer rights and related metadata issues

FUTURE ROAD MAP

Studio Web

The team will continue improving next-generation editing based on customer feedback, with the goal of removing the beta designation in December.

Additional upcoming functionality includes:

GeoJSON export
DWG import and export
Continued performance improvements and memory optimization
An Elevation Profile tool
A Keyboard Shortcuts component designed particularly for intensive editing workflows
Further advanced editing functionality

Studio Mobile

The immediate focus remains on technology updates, particularly the .NET 10 and ArcGIS Maps SDK 300.x updates. These are expected to bring performance and stability improvements, particularly on iOS.

Once those updates are complete, planned functionality includes result-list grouping by source layer, query definitions as filters within Layer Presets, and support for using Layer Presets configured in Studio Desktop.

Studio Desktop

The planned 2.3 release in December will focus heavily on CAD export. The team is working to allow exports to use the current map symbology, rather than relying solely on a seed file.

The team is also working to make Studio Desktop translatable by partners, allowing it to be offered in additional languages.

Workflow

An eight-week research project investigating AI-assisted Workflow configuration has now concluded. The team evaluated a number of approaches and identified a promising pattern. The team plans to pursue this further and hopes to have a proof of concept available later this year or early next year.

Reporting

Work continues on the new Gen2 Reporting solution, which combines the existing reporting capabilities with the Gen2 Printing engine for improved map image generation.

Recent progress includes storing report information directly in an ArcGIS portal item to make reports more portable, a dedicated batch printing mode for large numbers of map images, improvements to the DevExpress integration, greater flexibility for legends, and a converter to assist with the transition from Gen1 to Gen2 reporting.

The current plan remains to bring the Gen2 Reporting solution to the SaaS environment this year.

As always reach out to Cam Barnard and Christian Wohlmutter with questions. We appreciate your input, and thank you for taking the time to explain your use case examples to us when we ask for clarification!
