Quick filter not showing any data: map image layer

Hi

Having an issue on an 11.3 Enterprise portal with quick filter workflow, regular filter setup works with finding unique values for the dropdown but when the layer is used for quick filter the dropdown shows “No data”, have tested with both regular and hosted service. 

Update:
I have tested the quick filter with the following layer types:
Hosted Feature Layer - works on fields where a list/domain is not set, pulls unique values from the existing features. Does not work if a field has a list/domain.
Map Image Layer - does not work. 
Feature Layer - works on both fields that have list/domain and fields that don't. (Tested with Matrikler med bjørneklo (2020))

Is it intended that for quick filter a feature layer is required?

  We're having the same issue, and this is a rather critical workflow for our customers. Is there any documentation to be found on which types of layers/data models are supported with quick filter/quick query?
