Report created by Save As option will not run, original will
Hi all,
I have workflows A and B. Both will run and create a report using Report 1 as a tool in Studio Web.
I need to alter the Report just a little bit for Workflow B. I opened Report 1, and did a “Save As” to a new Name. I made zero changes to the report at this point. Both reports and workflows shared “publicly” in Portal (on intranet)
I captured the url of the new report and pasted the report url in the “input arguments” in Web Studio for the workflow (workflow B). I save everywhere I can and then run the workflow in Web.
The report fails on Run Report activity in the workflow.
My question is - “Should a Save As work to duplicate a report”? Or is there some other procedure to create a duplicate report to work with?
Note: I can recopy and paste the original report URL back into the parameters and the workflow will work flawlessly again.
Thanks,

Which error do you get, whay do you see in the browser developer tools (console, network traffic)?

Hi Nico,
Here is the error in Studio Web when I run the workflow that creates the report.
Here is what is displaying in the devtools. I cannot find any reference in Studio Web to the menu item with the particular ID underlined in red. I do not know where that ID is originating.
Should I deduce from your response that a Save As from Report1 to Report2 with a new name should have been all I needed to do in order to duplicate a report?
Thanks,

Hi Carmen Durham yes, the Save As should be enough to duplicate the report to a new item.
In terms of that error you are seeing, you mentioned you are running this report from a workflow. I infer this is probably using a Run Report activity. I would look at the content of the workflow, I suspect there is an errant reference there.

If this issue is reproducable, I would advice you to submit a support ticket.
