VSW Query\Filter multiple layer at once

Hi. It would be useful to be able to configure the query or filter tools to apply the same query to multiple layers at once. My particular use case is for a capital projects viewer. The projects can be created as points, lines or polygons, resulting in 3 separate layers for what really should be a single dataset. The schema is identical between them. It feels pretty clunky to make the end user apply the same query 3 times in order to complete their task. I think this scenario is not uncommon.

I could see a few ways to approach this:

1. Modify the components so it can be configured to apply to multiple layers via the web designer interface.
2. Maybe can create a workflow to do this but that seems like a high LOE.
3. Add events for filtering/querying actions (like filter applied, filter removed). With events like that, it would be pretty easy to trigger a workflow that would apply the filter or query to other layers, immediately after the user applies the filter via the filter component.
