Trigger feature result on address search instead returning address point

Our original geocortex app would return property/parcel information whenever an address was searched. This was done with custom code. I am trying to now do it in a workflow by getting the lat/longs of the address searched and then intersecting it with a parcel layer. The intersection would find the proper parcel to return.  Is there a good starting point I can begin with to explore this?
