Trigger specific layer result when an address is searched

Our original geocortex app returned property/parcel information whenever an address was searched. This was done with custom code. I am trying to now do it in a workflow or using custom commands by getting the lat/longs of the address searched and then returning the parcel the lat/longs fall within. Is there a good starting point I can begin with to explore this?

The workflow I created doesn't work. It first gets the parcel layer, then runs the address search, then compared the geometries between the parcel layer and the layer lat/long to see where it intersect. The comparing geometries only returns a boolean based on the documentation. That's as far as I got on this.
