Is there a Setting, Command, or any other method to enable Copy Features?
Hi there,
I am getting more familiar with VSW and learning some of the different expressions to write custom commands.
I am imagining an ability to take an existing feature and have the ability to Copy and Paste the geometry on to the map. For example, a User might want to copy and paste Tree features when they are mapping a homogenous row of Street Trees...
Is there a way to do this? I'm not sure I have found any command expressions

Howdy.
I'm no expert on the custom commands and expressions, but I'd be fairly confident you could do this process via VS Workflow.
We have geocortex Essentials (the old version) workflows that do this, and the theory in simple terms is;
- Prompt user for select layer (ie. trees in your case) and target layer (to write to)
- User selects required trees
- User optionally subselects trees (if too many chosen)
- Workflow updates the underlying target layer in geodatabase
Just need a combination of the Select features, and Add or Update feature activities/tools in the VS Workflow.
We've transferred a few of our Essentials workflows to VSW (including adding, reshaping, etc.), but just not the copy one as yet. I have no doubt it can be transferred - the tools are essentially the same in old vs new.
VSW is pretty powerful in this regard.
