Web Map not refreshing in App
Hi there,
I updated a layer in my webmap that is used in my VertiGIS Studio Web app, and the changes are not being reflected in the application no matter what I do. I can see them in ArcGIS Portal, but within VertiGIS the changes are not reflected. I have saved it, I have closed it down, signed in again, hit the "Refresh" button within the Map settings in Vertigis, which by the way, in that window the changes are reflected
Yet, the changes aren't reflected in the application. Do I need to remove it entirely and replace it and if so, won't I lose everything I've configured related to it?
Anyone have experience with this issue?
Thanks,
Andree

Hey Andree Mackay Bryan This sounds like it could be related to deployment. Do you have only a development version of your app, or have you deployed a production version as well? I'd also have a look at the app ID in the URL bar - the one in your launched viewer should match the ID you see in designer.
If you do have a prod version, you'd need to deploy those changes to your prod app: https://docs.vertigisstudio.com/webviewer/latest/admin-help/deploy-an-app-across-a-single-.html0 -
I understand what you're suggesting, but I don't understand while working in Designer and continuing to configure this application, why I'm not able to see the updated web map. I am not viewing it outside of designer at this time. I have made changes to the web map in portal, but those changes are not coming across.

This is what this section of the web map looks like within designer. Note the outlined and overlapping islands.

This is what the same area looks like in the portal web map used in the application. Note the outlines of the islands have been cleaned up. I have deployed and redeployed, saved, etc, but the webmap changes are not reflected in anything I've deployed for users and they're not reflected in the designer window within VertiGIS Studio. What am I missing here? Thanks in advance.

Hey Andree Mackay Bryan I see what you mean, those are definitely different web maps.
I'm not sure why you're seeing this behaviour though. I'm not certain if this is a VSW configuration issue or a web map one. As a quick test, I'd try making a new VSW app and adding the same web map. The behaviour you see there should help understand if the issue is related to the VSW app or the web map.
If that doesn't get you anywhere, I'd suggest connecting with VertiGIS Studio Support as they are best equipped to work directly with you.0 -
I did just that and the web map is reflected correctly in the new application. It must be a VSW thing.
Thanks,
I'm going to have to take this to the Support team.

Ahh, interesting. Thanks for your quick response, Andree. I'd be curious if a new change to the web map is then reflected in that new app or if you're consistently seeing VSW not respect that web map change.
I'll leave this in your & Support's capable hands, but please do update here once you've got a resolution.

We went through troubleshooting this issue on a call. Updating Web from version 5.25 to 5.27 seemed to do the trick.
We also first tried switching to use the new Map Viewer instead of Map Viewer Classic for saving the web map, though that didn't resolve the initial issue. Unfortunately we weren't able to pinpoint an exact cause, though through the troubleshooting process we did observe some interesting/inconsistent layer visibility behaviour from the Portal Map Viewer.
