Shortening VertiGIS URL for Users

Iv'e read how to change the Environment Values for Test, dev, prod, etc. (see below)

Is it possible to shorten the URL that users see/use from:
https://www.midmogis.org/vertigisstudio/web/?app=e0b428ab4d2d4a0596711bf060fdc311
To
https://www.midmogis.org/VS/web/?app=e0b428ab4d2d4a0596711bf060fdc311

(Environment Values
Automatically replace text to suit each deployment stage. In each case, all the occurrences of the text will change for each stage. For example, you could set all text instances of 'dev' from the Development stage to change to 'prod' in the Production stage.)

  Hi Jill, 

  As far as I'm aware, this is not possible directly through VTS.

  Assuming you only need to shorten for usability/aesthetics - in my opinion it would be best to set up a redirect on your web server via Internet Information Services (IIS).

  You could shorten to "https://www.midmogis.org/some_name" and avoid exposing the app id to the end user all together, making transition through development stages seamless for the user.
