WKT vs WKID (projection)
Is it possible to use a projection or coordinate system based on a Well Known Text (wkt) instead of a Well Known ID (wkid), such as this map cached service:
http://dnrmaps.wisconsin.gov/ArcGIS/rest/services/DW_Map_Cached/EN_Image_Basemap_WTM_Ext/MapServer
I ask because I tried to create a very simple map application (Silverlight) with just this mapservice and I got a blank screen. A dynamic mapservice drew, but I suspect that it was being re-projected on the fly.
Thoughts?

Hi Mike, I brought your map service into the latest version and encountered a similar problem. The map service seems to work correctly in the Manager correctly and displays, but when brought into the Silverlight viewer it fails to show anything but a white map. The rest interface does export the map properly, so I suspect the problem is in the Silverlight viewer side. I would contact support if you haven't already determined what the challenge is.

This issue is due to the map only having a WKT and the Esri Silverlight API being very strict when it compares two coordinate systems.
We'll have it resolved for the next public release of the Silverlight viewer.

Mike, I brought in another map service and it has the full well-known text reference without problem. So both WKT and WKID seem to be supported.

Sorry, I should have posted back to the forum that my issue was resolved by tech support (Malcolm Walker rocks!)
