Forum- filtering search results
When I search the Support Center, I would love to have the ability to filter the results by the groups that have been set up. Even better if those preferences could be set globally! As I'm doing searches pertaining to my Silverlight development, I find a lot of promising posts that turn out to be WebADF-related.

Thanks for the suggestion David.
We recognize that this would certainly improve the usability of the site. I've add this to our list of future improvements.

John,
Wish to back this request up as its difficult using the site when you cannot filter results for each of the forum sub-groups.

Hi,
We've now added the ability to search specific groups of forums. You can now search only the Essentials forums, or only the Optimizer forums, and so forth.

All,
Following up on John's post regarding searching 'groups' or 'categories' of forums, I have now actually changed the search filtering to allow searching of explicit forums; such as the "Silverlight API and Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight". We have not included all the forums at this point to keep the drop down list manageable.
I hope this turns out to be a successful change for you all.

Is it user-error on my behalf or have we lost this functionality in recent days whereby you are provided with option to narrow down your search to a specific forum?

Same thing here, I can not filter by specific forum anymore.

This functionality should be fully restored now.

Thanks for adding the ability to search in different forum areas.
Another enhancement would be the ability to quote keywords and search for them as a phrase. Example - if I search for "Transparent Basemap", the top results find the keywords transparent and basemap, but what I'm actually searching for is a posting that contains the phrase "transparent basemap".

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for the enhancement request. I'm going to be looking at the search code in the near future, so I can investigate what's happening here. I'm not promising anything, other than reporting back on what I find.
regards,
Edmond
