Unable to install Geocortex Essentials 3.4.0 -- rollback with error: 1603

Unable to install Geocortex Essentials 3.4.0...the installer fails during the update of the component registration with error message: Windows Installer installed the product. Product Name: Geocortex Essentials 3.4.0. Product Version: 3.4.0. Product Language: 1033. Installation success or error status: 1603.

Environment:

1. ESXi Virtual Machine:

 

    a. Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit without HyperThreading

 

    b. 4 GB Ram

 

    c. 2 CPU

 

    d. Hard Drives:

 

        1. 40 GB -- C (OS)

 

        2. 40 GB -- D (Data)

 

        3. 40 GB -- E (Cache)

Steps:

1.  Unintalled Geocortex Essentials 3.3.0

 

2.  Reboot VM

 

3.  Install Geocortex Essentials 3.4.0 with command:  msiexec /i "Geocortex Essentials 3.4.0.msi" /l* install.log

  It looks like this error was caused by the msi installer process needing extra disk space for the intermediate steps of the installation. While the final Essentials folder (if you install all features) is slightly over 400MB, the installation used about 1.5 GB of disk space temporarily. This is not permanent, and the disk space used went down to the expected amount after installation was complete. We are investigating the cause of this extra temporary disk space usage.
