ADD NEW SITE ERROR!!

Hi,

After a successful installation of Geocortex Essentials on our development server, we tried to Quick Start by "Add New Site".

When we hit the ArcGIS services that is currently available on our development server, we came across some errors.

ArcGIS server 10 is running on the same machine as Geocortex installation, and all the services that we tried to connect were verified and they were running correctly.

Here are the details of the errors.

1. When a valid server and service URL was entered, it returned the following.

"No map services were discovered belonging to the host "<Server URL>""

 /customer/servlet/servlet.FileDownload?file=00P6000000e883iEAA

2. Then we clicked the button "Access Secured Services, it returned

"There was an error connecting to the host "<SERVER NAME>" with the credentials provided. If the host server requires SSL please ensure its certificate is trusted. Underlying error message:

The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden."

/customer/servlet/servlet.FileDownload?file=00P6000000e884GEAQ

 

Any ideas?

    We need a little more info if possible:

    • When you say your ArcGIS services are running correctly, can you confirm you can hit the rest endpoint:  e.g. http://<hostname>/arcgis/rest/services and get a valid response?  If your not getting a valid response, then you have an ArcGIS server issue (perhaps a post-install (web app)) is required?
    • Can you confirm what the ArcGIS Server rest endpoint string you are entering is?  In theory, it will be the same or similar to the above.
    • Can you confirm you are attempting to access secured services & if you are accessing secured services are these via SSL (https)?  If so, can you confirm you able to hit the ArcGIS rest endpoint & log in accordingly?  Can you confirm your using token-based authentication?  If not, then disregard the 'Access Secured Services' options.

    Aside from the above, can you setup a sample site & confirm your able to hit the geocortex sample rest endpoints (http://sampleserver1.geocortex.com/ArcGIS/rest/services) ?  If not, then this may indicate that your geocortex install is not quite right.

    You might also want to check out the thread:  (http://support.geocortex.com/Forums/Thread.aspx?pageid=0&mid=2&ItemID=2&thread=46186) Can't add ArcGIS Server map service in Create Site wizard  as it does provide some insight w.r.t. your rest endpoint config & whether you've got standard ArcGIS Server directories setup.

    Thanks for your response.

    Here are some more info.

    • We are able to hit the rest endpoint by typing in http://<hostname>/arcgis/rest/services, which then displays correctly the "ArcGIS Services Directory".
    • In addition, we also are able to hit the Geocortex Rest by typing "http://<hostname>/Geocortex/Essentials/REST/sites", which then displays correctly the "Geocortex Essentials Sites Directory".
    • It looks like we are using a secured services, but not using token-based authentication.

    I will try to provide more info after setup a sample site.
