Feature Hyperlink using Field from related table?

Is it possible to pass the value of a field from an external, related table (SQL Server data link) as a parameter in the URL for a feature hyperlink.  I've tried pre-pending the field name with the name of the data link, but no value is being inserted.

  Jeff,

  there are a couple of threads on concatenating fields into the hyperlink string... might help..

  this thread below says data-linked table are not supported... but maybe alternatives. Might be worth checking some release notes to see if external link are now supported, as the thread was started in May.
