    To answer my own question...

If you use the Select Features activity and don't specify a Collection Name, the feature set features are added to the default collection and are automatically selected.

However, if you do specify a Collection Name, the features are added to the Results Pane, but are NOT selected.  This is what I want.

Not sure why the behavior is different, but at least I can get the result I'm looking for.

Thanks for the post. Answered my question.

To L/G:  it would be good if this info was documented in the 'Select Features Activity' documentation in the Workflow Designer Help.

Can anyone explain WHY this is the case?

    To recap:

Why is it that if you do NOT indicated a Collection Name in the Select Features Activity, the features are selected but don't appear in "Results"?  (but the user has no way of knowing they are looking at Selected vs. Results because the top of the Data Area always says "Results" and not "Selected" which I have mentioned in this request: (http://support.geocortex.com/SupportForums/Thread.aspx?pageid=0&mid=2&ItemID=3&thread=48081) here )

But if you DO indicate a Collection Name in the Select Features activity, the features appear in Results with a Collection Name but are NOT selected?

(Clear collection first = true in both cases).

To get the items to appear in both the Results and as being selected, I have tried using two SelectFeatures Activities in a sequence with the only difference being that the second one has a Collection Name.  Now the features appear in the results and are selected.  But is this going to cause an issue?

    Thanks,

    carmen
