Data Linking Issue with SQL Server 2005 64bit/3.5.1

I am currently having an issue getting data linking to work using Essentials 3.5.1 when linking to a Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit  running MS SQL 2005 64 bit. I can connect to all 32bit databases fine and this also works with my test instance running 3.6. I am assuming this is related to an issue that 3.5.1 is running on a 32bit app pool but is trying to connect using the 64bit driver. Has anyone run into this issue. I attached a screenshot above. I know this is not a permissions issue because I can connect from the same server using asp/asp.net.
