    Hi Alex,

I unpacked the contents of the Geocortex+Viewer+for+HTML5+SDK+1.0.zip file into another directory first. Then started the Post Installation Configuration. Under Configure Templates click Add and look for the VTE file which should be in the directory where you unpacked the contents of Geocortex+Viewer+for+HTML5+SDK+1.0.zip file. Then it will ask you to deploy the management pack for this Viewer so say ok. Then after that just click finish.

When you go into the Geocortex Essentials Rest Manager the new HTML Viewer should be in the viewers list when you create a viewer for a site.

    I hope this helps

    Cheers

    Hi Alex,

    Glad to help.

I created a basic site with one map service but haven't added any workflows to it yet. When I run it on a desktop the viewer displays the map properly but with no functionality only zoom in and out. But when I run it on a tablet (Ipad) or handheld device (Iphone) the map does not show up at all. Are you getting this problem?

    Cheers

    Hi Frank,

On my end, the desktop viewer has zoom in and out, I want to...  (which contains Perform a Task, Zoom in, Zoom out, Return to initial map extent).

The Tablet viewer has tools like zoom in and out, I want to... , full extent and results. Same as the Handheld viewer.

All viewers can show maps properly. But it seems all HTML5 viewers have very limited tools than the Silverlight counterpart.

If no map shows on your ipad or iphone, could it be possibly the browser issue, is it HTML5 supported?

    Cheers,

    Alex

    Hi Frank,

Is it possible that the maps you're trying to access as set up using an intranet path and your mobile device cannot access it? Can you type the url to the Rest endpoint of the map service on your ipad and see it (as it is configure in Essentials)?

Take a look at the viewer log. It might have more information. To get to it, hold you finger down on the title bar for a few seconds.

    Cheers,

    Christian.

    Hi,

I was successful in deploying the *.vte template with Essentials Post Install tools; however, I did not get the option to deploy the template to an IIS virtual directory.

When I added the HTML5 viewer to my site, it appeared to work correctly, but the launch links were only available when I edited the viewer.

    Is this expected?

    Thanks in advance,

    ilima

    Hi ilima,

Yes, that was what I came across.

I didn't get the option to deploy the template to an IIS virtual directory either. And, no link to the viewer unless you open Edit mode.

    Cheers,

    Alex

There is no template included with the HTML5 viewer. HTML5 viewers are contained entirely within their virtual directories. This simplifies a few aspects (namely security and upgrading) but also results in longer launch links that are, as pointed out, missing from the viewers screen but available when you open a viewer for editing.

We are working towards improving integration with Manager in the next release.

    Cheers,

    Jason

    Thank you Alex and Jason.

It's great to have the validation that I installed the vte correctly and to know that there will be more at the next release.

    Have a great day!
