Forum search- results repeated

I confirm, I get every result repeated several times.

One more possible enhancement: when searching for 2 keywords (say "Access Log") the results seem to be the union of two separate searches, so either "Access" or "Log". Makes searching the knowledge base hard.

    Thanks

Please fix this otherwise the forum comes to hard to use. Also the search returns threads that have keywords in context, is it possible to limited to topic only? For example some when search "Attachment" which refers to attachment in ArcGIS, but it returns all threads that have attachment.....

I think searching forums is very difficult and it is very hard to find the information you know is in there somewhere.

+1 The search tool for the forum is dreadful.

Back in the IMF days you could search for Keywords with and/or statements and search by date.

It seems that you can search for access+log to get posts that contain both words. Note: do not put spaces before or after the + sign.

    That's right, Berend.

There is a small Help link for the search that appears when you are searching an individual form.  The text is pasted below for reference:

    ---

A query is broken up into terms and operators. There are two types of terms: Single Terms and Phrases.

A Single Term is a single word such as "test " or "hello ".

A Phrase is a group of words surrounded by double quotes such as "hello dolly ".

Multiple terms can be combined together with Boolean operators to form a more complex query. Boolean operators allow terms to be combined through logic operators. The search engine supports AND, "+", OR, NOT and "-" as Boolean operators (Note: Boolean operators must be ALL CAPS). The OR operator is the default conjunction operator. This means that if there is no Boolean operator between two terms, the OR operator is used. The OR operator links two terms and finds a matching document if either of the terms exist in a document. The AND operator matches documents where both terms exist anywhere in the text of a single document.

The NOT operator excludes documents that contain the term after NOT.

The search engine supports using parentheses to group clauses to form sub queries. This can be very useful if you want to control the boolean logic for a query. Example: (jakarta OR apache) AND website

The "+" or required operator requires that the term after the "+" symbol exist somewhere in a the field of a single document.

To do a fuzzy search use the tilde, "~", symbol at the end of a Single word Term.

To perform a single character wildcard search use the "?" symbol.

To perform a multiple character wildcard search use the "*" symbol.

Note: You cannot use a * or ? symbol as the first character of a search.

I would love to see an 'order by date' function on the search. I don't know how many times I do a search and I get a response from SL 1.0 with an old version of Geocortex.  If I'm missing something please let me know!!

    Thanks,

    Chase

Latitude:  the search engine is bringing back two identical results for a search again, at least for most items.

And +1 on the date sort!

We've rebuilt the search index and that seems to have removed the duplicates.
