Edit Data Link - 'Visible' option

Hi to all

GE3.9 and SL1.5.2

In the REST Manager ==> Map ==> Layer ==> Edit Data Link: LinkageName Screen there is a 'Visible' checkbox. I would like to assume that this will control as to whether the DataLink tab for LinkageName is shown  to the user in the Viewer when Additional Feature Details are requested.

Unfortunately this option does not seem to be having this effect.

Can anyone confirm that this is what it should do. I have yet to find any documentation that states this either way.

Has anyone else tried this option? Essentially I need to linked data in the viewer, I just don't want the user to see it in a 'raw' state.

  My understanding is the same as yours, however, I haven't tried it yet. 

  See release notes for 3.9....top of page 3.

  "New Visible property on Data Links, Print Templates and Reports. Administrators may now configure hidden Data Links, Print Templates and Reports. Hidden items do not appear in the user interface but they may still be used by commands, workflows and custom code.

   

  Note: this will not be fully supported until subsequent releases of the Silverlight, Flex and JavaScript client APIs."

  thanks for reminding of that detail. I guess I will just need to wait for SL1.6
