Map Template PDF error
Hi,
We have seen an issue arise in our Production environment (unfortunately not present in our Test environment) whereby we see an error appearing after a user downloads a map template (via the large format printing option):
"An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem"
A quick google indicated this may be an issue w.r.t. the pdf becoming corrupted. I do have reservations about our current PROD environment w.r.t. physical infrastructure (we are pushing it a little w.r.t. available memory etc) & wondering if this is the source of the issue since i cannot replicate it in our Test environment (with same template) however i was under the impression the large format printing by & large overcome resourcing (memory) issues. Its worth adding that the output pdf appears (visually) to be complete on most occasions although i can produce maps whereby some elements of the templates are not complete.
Has anyone seen similar issues before?

Brad, we saw this ages ago when we first started work on the asynchronous printing.
It works by generating the image out-of-process and inserting it into the template when everything is finished.
Usually the problem occured because some of the binary bytes in the image were accidentally being interpreted as binary components of the PDF (so, it would find a page break in the middle of the map image, and get confused).
We haven't seen this in a long time so I'm not entirely sure it has resurfaced.
Is the overview map also working? How about the legend?
Can you try to get us a sample of a corrupted PDF so we can investigate it further?
Do you have sufficient disk space on the server to hold all the temporary images? Are there any messages in the Essentials logs about failed processes?
Regards,
-Malcolm
