    Brad,

We had Geoplex in to do the ArcPy work, and we are very happy with the results! Sure - it takes a little longer to produce a map as it hits the mxds, and maplex is even enabled - but we have a requirement for high quality mapping output, and with LG not looking to improve their printing process (jpeg map output!) we had little choice but to look for alternatives, and as the article suggests - it's pretty simple to implement, and the added bonus is it takes the load of the GE server, so we have a dedicated print server, well two, but having issues at present load balancing GP tasks to them ; (

If anyone would like further information just let me know.

    cheers

    Hi Brad / Gareth

I know this is an old post - the original link is no longer available - but printing via ArcPy is exactly what I'm interested in.  The actual ArcPy side of things is not really a problem as we already some custom gp services that use ArcPy to do the custom printing, but I just don't see a way to pass the contents of a Geocortex viewer to ArcPy in the first place.  Is Essentials used in these cases or has the printing been separated out?  Any feedback on this topic would be appreciated as I struggle to understand why ESRI print services don't seem to be supported.

    Thanks,

    Stuart

    Stuart,

basically, there is a worklow in GE that handles the process, and within this workflow is a geoprocessing acivity that passes a bunch of predefined variables to the task. PM me your details and I can at the very least send you the workflow etc.. to see if it suits your needs. One thing it does not do is pass any graphics/drawings etc. to the arcmap templates. That is the next challenge!

    cheers

    GF
