SampleViewer for 1.1
I downloaded HTML5 and ran the post install. I was able to get a simple map site working in Manager. I would like to get the SampleViewer going. The Readme says to run Build.bat, but it quickly comes up and then disappears. Has it done anything? What do I need to do at this point? I'm assuming that this viewer is set up to look at the Charlotte services, but it indicated that it could be modified to work with local services. I'm assuming that it would already have a number of the newer features set up (layer control, etc) that I would only need to modify to get to work with my services - yes?

Hi Mike,
The thing you're referring to is actually the "SamplesViewer". It's an application that loads a number of SDK samples and displays descriptions of each sample as well as source code. These samples are intended to illustrate important development concepts.
If you're just looking to host an out-of-the-box HTML5 viewer somewhere, "Viewer.zip" contains a stock viewer. The Site URL points to a Charlotte site by default, but is otherwise totally stock.
If you're looking to start creating custom components and targeted apps, then the SamplesViewer is a good resources. Also a good resource is the QuickStart we ship - this is just a stock viewer with a custom module and view loaded. It's intended to provide a quick and easy way for people to start customizing the viewer.

Jason,
So how do I install the quickstart? The Readme file and Installation Guide really don't explain this well...
I'm assuming that none of this is yet configurable in manager? When is that likely to be available?

Jason,
To add on to my last post. Where do the SDK samples get loaded? And I do that by running the build.bat?
When you talk about the stock viewer - would it look just like a site created in Manager, with nothing extra added? Or does it contain some layer controls and such?

The QuickStart and SamplesViewer are supplementary resources to help developers get started with custom development. They don't get installed into Manager. Both of these folders contain HTML5 resources, and thus can be hosted under a web server like IIS, on a development machine.
The stock viewer is the same as what you get when you create a Viewer in Manager for a given Site, except your Viewer will be pointing at your Site and not the default Charlotte one. Layer controls are included.

Jason,
Why do the json files still say version 1.0 if I upgraded them? Can I just replace these with the json files in the SamplesViewer file? Or should I be cutting and pasting specific portions? When I look at the json files under my existing site, many of the modules that are mentioned in the Admin are missing...

Nevermind - I stated a new site, and it is using the current version.
