Calculate a value in Feature Description

Is it possible to do some basic calculation in the feature details section?  I would like to present a percentage that divides two fields and multiply by 100.  I tried embedding some javascript, but that did not seem to work.  Any options for dynamic calculation in feature descriptions?

  Have you thought about creating a view with the calculation in that? The procedure I would do would involve:

  1. Create a view with the calculation as a field, including the objectid field for join.
  2. Add the view as a table to the site as a data link in the same layer.
  3. Show the data link in the feature description using the format {dataLinkID.datalinkField}

  I hope this idea gives you a solution.

  I'm with you Marc - it would be great to be able to dynamically build a new/modified value in the feature description. I asked as an enhancement request some time back but I don't think it's got any traction. My request was more along the line of throwing some dynamic SQL converts/formatting of the data on the fly, but calcs etc.. would be beneficial also.

  Our old web system was able to do this quite well OOTB - developed by Esri Australia, so I'm missing the ability to do the fomat and calcs...

  some nice ideas though Shawn, but would be nicer and cleaner if it could be done dynamically in the manager itself.
