Proper use of Difference Task

We have a situation where we need to select points in a ring around a specific location. 

To get started I've set up a workflow that creates two buffers around a selected point feature.  For example, one buffer is a 10,000 meter buffer the other a 5,000 meter buffer.  Points within each buffered region are selected. 

For the next step I would like to remove the 5000 meter buffer selection results from the 10,000 meter buffer selection results.  This would exclude any points closer than 5000 meters and leave a selection of the points between 5000 and 10,000 meters from the center point.

Looking through the available tools, I thought the Difference Task might be the solution I need.  I added it to my workflow with what I thought were the correct parameters, but I can't figure out what to do with the resulting IList Graphic collection.  I'm not sure if this task is what I need.

Can I use the Difference Task to accomplish what I've described above?
