Password strength requirements in 4.0.0,

Password strength requirements in 4.0.0,

I’m wondering if there is a way to disable the “password strength requirements” as we do in windows. Now in 4.0.0, the Geocortex requires at least 6 characters for the password.

  Hi Jamal,

  The password strength requirements are defined by the current membership provider of Identity Server. You can change these settings by editing the membership.config file of Identity Server. You will find it here by default:

  C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Geographics\Geocortex Identity Server\Web\Configuration\membership.config

  The two relevant properties are:

  • minRequiredPasswordLength="6"
  • minRequiredNonalphanumericCharacters="0"

  The local security policy of the machine does not apply here.
