Where is the Visible option on Dynamic map services?
Has anyone seen this?
I have several map services in my site that I have turned off by default. I want the user to turn them on in the layers list in the viewer or by a workflow. We have upgraded to the latest version on our test server to Essentials 4.2.0.. Now under the map (map service) in manager on the Display tab there is no Visible check box. We have built the sites so in the viewers the user could turn on the map service check box in the layers list and the appropriate layers will display, (Ex. One map service with City Storm layers has 11 layers, by default only 6 are turned on, 5 are off are optional overlays). I don’t want the user to look through all of the layers and try to figure out which layers they should turn on.
I looked in the Essentials Guide (latest version) and it has on page 86 under Map Service Display Setting Tab; Visible: (Tiled map services).
I want to check on the box next to the map service name and turn it on.
Maybe I’m missing something?
Thanks

hello
We experience the same problem. According to my test this is a bug. when the option is used for disabled a specific theme off in the new menu it is impossible to close a group or department after.
I am also looking for my next solution . I still looking for a fix....!

Same problem here. I have it set up so all the layers in the service are not visible, it would just confuse our users. They just see the service name. Is this going to be fixed?

This is what Support sent me:
"The process of enabling/disabling visibility is all done through the 'Layer List' tab, not the 'Map Services' tab in 4.2.
The Map Services tab is mainly for determining the draw order of services and the map's spatial reference. The Layer List tab configures all of the visibility settings for the individual layers and 'Map Services' are represented as folders which allows you to keep the layers together from the map service or mix and match. The Layer List tab represents what you will see in the viewers."Above from GeoCortex Support
After figuring out the Layers tab, I could turn layers/map services off and on. So, Thanks GeoCortex for straighting this out.

Hello
According to the test I understand that the Layer List tab configures all of the visibility is now made ??from the list and it's great to work in this way. But , now, the problem is that before we could include theme based on the différent scale and the customer does not see the management layers of scale but see the thematique. Now when a layer is removed from the layers list tab it is no longer visible While we need this whole topic to compose the theme through a group.
Another fact is that we are forced to have at least one theme in the directory or groupe, if you take all off the group does not appear.
Example: Here a this service we just want to see the group bacause we play whit the scale http://geoservices805.cmquebec.qc.ca/gsp964/rest/services/GeoBase/Base_Toponymie/MapServer
MRC (0) This the group we want to see
MRC txt 10k (1) this one is off
MRC txt 100k (2) this one is off
MRC txt 150k (3) this one is off
MRC txt 300k (4) this one is offThank if you have any idea, how to fixe that.
