automate hyperlink click from workflow

I would like to automate the process of clicking on a hyperlink from a workflow.  In other words – the user makes a selection from a comboBox in a display form.  I use the value from the selected result to build a hyperlink then display this link to the user to click.  I would like to eliminate this last step.  Is there a way to programmatically “CLICK” /open the hyperlink from a workflow instead of (re)presenting(displaying) the hyperlink dialog?

  I think you want to use Run External Command activity. Use the command "NavigateToUri" and complete URL as your command parameter.
