Embedded viewer cross site data retrieval

I am new to Geocortex. I am exploring the option of embedding the viewer in a web page on a different server than essentials. I think i see examples, so I think this can be done. We also want to be able to make changes in the viewer from the web page and to get data results out of the viewer back to the web page. Is this feasable?
