Removing DataItem From IList with RemoveFromCollection

Hello

I have a IList<Geocortex.Forms.Client.DataItem>  and cannot figure out how to use the RemoveFromCollection<T> activity to remove from collection.  I made a seperate DataItem, filled the Value and Display with data that will exactly match a DataItem in the IList.  Using the IList as the collection and the newly formed DataItem as the Item, I try and run the RemoveFromCollection activity.  Nothing happens.  No errors and no removal.  

All I want to do is remove one record from the IList.
